Each time I start my PC it says CMOS Checksum Error, and then it asks for a boot disk. I have no idea what to do?? Any ideas? thanx.

Last time I had that error, the motherboard battery was flat, I hope that it's the same in your case...

Thanx for the advice both of u Smile

Here's what I ended up doing and saved me a few thousand Rand.

BIOS had been attacked by a virus I think. When I rebooted it didnt even have the BIOS setup available. The computer just made a sad low pitched sound and did nothing.

So I decided to Flash the BIOS (Not with my body)

Went to http://www.via.com.tw and downloaded the .bin file and a .exe programme.

Then went to http://www.bootdisks.com and downloaded a DOS 3 bootdisk.

Stuff it in A: ran the .exe programme and told it to load the .bin file.

After a minute it rebooted, asked me to go in to Bios setup, pressed F10 and now my PC is working like a dream Smile

It was the Linux one, Linux was acting strange a few days before.

It would always end up at bash each time i turned it on, and whenever i told in to start xserver it would say access denied. Anyway ill have to look into that too now lol. Wish me luck Smile
