Franschhoek Cape Seed loaf

Something for the Capies to appreciate wherever you might be Wink

This will be on LIMITED time release.. ie snooze you lose Big Grin

Franschhoek Cape Seed loaf

1500g Whole-wheat flour
300g White Bread flour
250g Crushed wheat (which has been soaked)
250g Sunflower seed
100ml Vegetable oil
100g Golden Syrup
70g Fresh yeast
50g S-500 (Bread improver, optional)
50g Salt
25ml Vinegar
2000ml Water

Method:
Throw all ingredients into a mixing bowl and mix together for approx 12 minutes.

Bake in bread tins @ 140c for approx 1 hour.

Cheffie, you forgot the sprinkling of poppy seeds over the centre top of the loaf! Big Grin

Does it really take all that water?? 2000ml?

I am very allergic to sunflower seeds... whatelse would taste good with it?

As far as I know it takes all the water. My brother's recipe and all.. so I guess him being a pastry Chef would have me believing him Wink

Any seeds would do then - preferably the larger variety. Are you only allergic to the sunflower seeds or seeds and nuts in general?

Just sunflower seeds. Almost died when I thought it was very healthy to eat it as a snack! I know immediately when I accidently ate one! Sunflower oil is fine. Walnuts make my throat itch, so I am not very keen on them.... pecans are fine.
