Does Google Talk works like Skype where anyone can Skype you and ask to be your friend.
Only a few people has my gmail address and I received a requested from someone in SA to be added to my list. There was no name.... just loads of numbers from mxit.co.za. I ignored it, but as it is the first time I received such a request on Google Talk I was just wondering if it works like Skype.

I should think so, yes, provided they have your email address.
I don't use either product but there is a useful entry on Google Talk in the wikipedia
here

Hi Pronks, it is best to ignore contacts you don't know.
Skype is wonderful, just don't give too much info on your profile page. My sister-in-law put here mobile number, age and location and had strange people trying to contact her! :curse:

I find it weird how, if I'm online I can get calls from anyone.
People don't call me from names on the Phone directory... or even email me, ... why skype ?

Hi Popeye.... Yes, Skype is great! I was just surprised to get a "please add met to your contacts" from SA on GoogleTalk." I am not on GoogleTalk that much though. Get these Skype invitations quite often.... from around the world. Have hardly any info on my profile.
