Misplaced Scottish Paranoia
#1
Perhaps our paranoia is driven by the fact that over the last 5-6 years we have beaten Man Utd, Liverpool, Blackburn, Juventus, Porto, Anderlecht, Benfica, Ajax, Lyon, Celta Vigo, Rosenberg, Barcelona and drawn with Bayern and Milan. However, this does not save us from the constant English media bashings about the standard of our team and the Scottish game in general. Despite this impressive array of scalps, we are still led to believe that we could not live with the big boys of Wigan, Reading, Bolton and Charlton. The overhyped EPL is a fraud. Entertaining, yes. Best league in the world, the facts would certainly suggest otherwise. The fact that our resurgent National team would probably turn over England's consistently under achieving mob only makes it all the better. We are a small nation that, until the late 80s-90s, punched above our weight in the football world. Looks like we could be rediscovering how to play the game.

we don't have Champions League coverage on TV here

was following a bit of it on BBC online and then went off not realising that they in fact beat Man U

a wonderful result for Celtic

I think the bashing is of the League not Celtic and Rangers(normally). Lets be honest u'd even struggle for a scottish crowd to tune into a Motherwell v Dunfermline game ! :mmm:
