I would have to say at present it would be the Dave Pelzer books. A child called It and The lost Boy are both very sad, they do break your heart to see what abuse does to a little child and eventually a teenager. I must admit that the final book which I am in the middle of - A man called Dave, I actually find that it is so inspiring - to see what he does with his life, the strength of forgiveness is amazing. It is truly a remarkable story and I think it is so great that he has shared his story and his life with people. So from the depths of abuse, this is ONE story which goes on to show the hope and the courage of one person!!!

Once I was a princess by Jacqueline Pascarl-Gillespie and
Slave by Mende Nazer......these type of books depicting the hardships borne by many women in the eastern culture - it
brings me down to earth appreciating the simple lifestyle i have
and easy living we have...by just walking down the street carefree and not having to cover up means complete freedom they never seem to have......Sad Sad

It's pretty much a toss up between two books: I have Life, as told by Mariann Thamm, and A Child Called It, by Dave Pelzer

Well Dave Pelzer definately has knocked my socks off, I have read all of the books and the final one I read for two-thirds of the day and actually feel quite drained !
