My son always loved the sound of the washing machine. When he was tiny, I'd sit him in his bouncy chair next to it - worked like a charm!

Thanx for the links Angelbabe.
Venus, I read that babies with colic etc get settled with white noise. Although my little one hasn't been born yet, I want to pre-empt any eventualities. I found some CD's on the net with noises of vacuum cleaners, airconditioners and hairdryers.... I found that quite funny.
But on a more serious side, I also read that babies like the monotonous sounds of waves breaking etc, and I have a few of those new age CD's with Dolphins and Whale music and also breaking water...so I am moving those CD's into his room this week-end!
