Google toolbar worked perfectly ok till sat. i havent downloaded anything at all that could have been a nasty. These popups slow my pc down cronically and it is hard to exit them. one is a particulary offensive porno one. :o :o AND NO !!!!! i havent been looking at any umm porno stuff to have opened the door Big Grin Big Grin

Hi Angelbabe

If you're using IExplorer then that may be part of the problem. I would recommend you try Opera or Mozilla Firefox (or both as I do). Meanwhile why don't you get yourself a copy of "Spybot Search & Destroy" and "Spyware Blaster", both reviewed in this week's Web User magazine. They have been given the top awards and are highly recommended as the answer to deterring the spyware which invades our PC's.

Since I started using Mozilla Firefox and Opera I havent had any popups at all. Except when I occasionally click on a link that insists on opening IE6, only then do the popups come flooding in.

For a copy of the latest "Spybot S & D" try the following link:-

and for a copy of Spyware Blaster try the link below:-

Both these programs are Freeware.

I wish you luck with your endeavours.

Hi AB

So am I and it does work. My PC is an oldish Compaq Presario and is around 4-5 years old and still going strong.

I don't think that these two browsers are as "Bloated" as Internet Explorer. The Mozilla, which I use most of the time is minus any email in it. This has been provided as a separate stand alone program called Thunderbird. This email program is even better than Outlook Express 6 which is also on my system as part of IE6.

Why not give it a try and see how you get on, you may be surprised.

Good luck

Regards

HH
