mothercare definitely has them. they are quite expensive, but much better than muslins. much more absorbant!

I've seen them at Boots and Toys R us - the baby section. I would also hold fire on the dummies and bottles. Perhaps just get one dummy just in case, and if your baby likes them then you can get some more.

I was given a pack of 10 terry nappies as a gift & they were from Mother Care. I've seen them in several of the larger stores, including Woolworths. They are very pricey, about £25 for 10.
Regarding the dummies & bottles. My advice would be to have one dummy (my son still loves his) & a couple of bottles to start. I had intended to breast feed & so didn't have any bottles. However, due to post natal health problems, I didn't produce enough milk & was only able to breast feed for about 2 weeks & then had to send my dad out to buy some bottles. Bottles are also handy for storing expressed breast milk. But if you can't or don't want to breast feed whilst still in hospital, the midwives keep a stock of ready made formula in disposable bottles.

Nappy sacks (little plastic bags to put used nappies in whn throwing them away to reduce the smell and mess popential. - some are scented too)
One of those nappy bins with a tubular plastic lining works well - if you have the space for it..

Beanie & any other new mums-to-be, these can range in price from anything from 70p for 100 at ASDA to £1 for 300 at Pound Shops to £3.50 for 50 at Mother Care. The cheap ones, quite obviously, work just as well as the fancy Mother Care ones! :p
I've never felt the need for one of those nappy bins. If the nappy is that smelly, it can go straight into the outside bin!
I see that you can also now get baby wipe warmers at a ridiculous price. :crylol: These are for mums who really have too much money & not much common sense, in my honest opinion!
If it's cold & you're worried that your baby's bum will get cold, simply place the wipes on the radiator for a few minutes before use.
