Law in South Africa
Two recent court cases, have earned the attention of newspaper readers
in South Africa.
1. One person was fined R1 000 for not having a TV licence.
2. Another was released on bail for R500 after being arrested for
murder.
The moral of this South African story:
If you do not have a TV licence and the inspector comes round, kill
him.You'll save R500.
It's the Right Thing To Do....

The recipient of the first partial face transplant has recovered so well she can go out without people noticing her scars, her surgeon has said.
Isabelle Dinoire, from Amiens, France, received the graft from a brain-dead donor after being mauled by her dog.
One year on, her surgeon Bernard Devauchelle said she continued to make excellent progress and that he had plans to carry out more operations.
Mrs Dinoire has told him she could smile and looked like herself again.

I can hardly believe it is a year already! I am so pleased that it is going so well with her!

November 28, 2006 Edition 2
THE PATTERN is becoming a familiar one: a Springbok coach starts his tenure in encouraging fashion but eventually finds himself trapped in a nightmare of poor results and political back-stabbing.
And so current coach Jake White is required to fly home today to face rugby's President's Council, which will apparently decide on his future.
There have been quite a few calls for White to be sacked, based largely on a run of poor results which has seen the Boks slip down the world rankings. Some of the more Machiavellian operators in rugby are beginning to circle.
White has done himself little favour with his handling of the Luke Watson issue. The impression has been created that the decision not to pick the player was based on personal issues rather than those related to rugby.
His inter-personal skills also appear to have deteriorated as the pressure mounted, leading to a sometimes fractious relationship with the media.

Wild boars leave German village in tatters |

Berlin - A pack of wild boars fleeing hunters went on a two-hour rampage through a small southern German village, biting people and damaging cars and shops.
The weekend mayhem began during morning shopping hours in the town of Veitshoechheim, a police spokesperson said on Tuesday.
Three boars were shot by police, a number of others were killed in traffic accidents and several bit pedestrians.
"One wild boar entered a boutique, scaring the daylights out of a saleswoman," local police said in a statement.
"She tried to hide behind the cash register. When the animal ran out of her shop it smashed the store's inventory, causing 1 000 euros (about R7 000) damage."
The animals caused further damage to cars amounting to several thousand euros, police added.

A South African man has been fined $140 for taking a week off work, telling his employers he was pregnant.
Charles Sibindana, 27, stole a certificate from a clinic during his pregnant girlfriend's checkup, a court near Johannesburg heard.
He then added his own details to the note and submitted it and took seven days off work, seemingly unaware that only women consult gynaecologists.
His employers became suspicious and investigated the matter.
On passing sentence Magistrate Bruno Van Eeden warned Mr Sibindana "not to walk around faking sick letters from gynaecologists" as if he was pregnant, the South African Press Association news agency reporte
