  Love In The Home
Posted by: penelope - 28-03-2005, 01:20 PM - Forum: Poetry and Inspirations - Replies (1)

If I live in a house of spotless beauty with everthing in its place, but have not love, I am a housekeeper--not a homemaker.
If I have time for waxing, polishing, and decorative achievements, but have not love, my children learn cleanliness--not godliness.

Love leaves the dust in search of a child's laugh. Love smiles at the tiny fingerprints on a newly cleaned window.

Love wipes away the tears before it wipes up the spilled milk. Love picks up the child before it picks up the toys.

Love is present through the trials. Love reprimands, reproves, and is responsive. Love crawls with the baby, walks with the toddler, runs with the child, then stands aside to let the youth walk into adulthood.

Love is the key that opens salvation's message to a child's heart.

Before I became a mother I took glory in my house of perfection. Now I glory in God's perfection of my child. As a mother, there is much I must teach my child, but the greatest of all is love.

  Blasphemy on Easter Friday
Posted by: TheDuck - 26-03-2005, 05:50 PM - Forum: Your Religion - Replies (20)

Last night the family was watching a show on Suomi [Finnish] TV and this presenter ran a segment which was plain blasphemy and in poor taste.

What probably annoyed me most was the aspect that they would never dream of making fun of a Muslim or Jewish holiday on National TV, but Christianity comes in for blasphemy on what is considered the most important weekend/day on the Christian calendar.

Morning from a very Confusedunny: Durbs!!

I just want to wish all Christians a blessed time of peace and reflection this Easter.

May you come to a greater understanding of the power of the cross and what He did for each of us.

May the gift of the Holy Spirit become a greater and greater power in your life, the decisions you make and the words you speak.

May He manifest himself in your life in a way that you bear much fruit to His glory and may your relationship with Him become a lifelong friendship and one of peace, faith and obedience Confusedunny:

Happy Easter

  The questions children ask
Posted by: TheDuck - 23-03-2005, 10:32 AM - Forum: Parenting and Children - Replies (16)

This Duck forgot to mention the question RKAD asked wifey, while being pulled on a sleigh a few weeks ago.

Now remember he is 4, well off they go with wifey pulling him on the sleigh and he asks

"Mommy, little boys don't have seed in their winkies when they small"

Now I can recall when growing up that we never had a chat about anything related to this, at either 4 or 17

It seems as though the kiddies are so much more advanced. He had previously asked how babies are made and wifey had mentioned that seed is placed in the mommy where the baby grows.

So, his enquiring mind had been thinking about it over a period of time
