Jangar, what you do is;
you know that the fractions that they give, plus the number of abstracts (45 in all) all add up to one whole, so you add One fourth, the one fifth,and the one tenth together.
This makes 9/20ths.
The remainder(11/20ths) is the abstracts, which they tell you is 45.
Then as the Master says ...

I think I get it now...
1/4 + 1/5 + 1/10 = 11/20 so thus the 45 = 9/20...
Therefore 45/x = 9/20
9x = 900 and thus x = 100
Start with the number of letters in the word for the people honored by a February holiday that honors our Chief, add the number of letters in the avenue named in the song “Easter Parade,†then subtract the number of letters in the word that represents the night of witches and goblins.
