"Goodbye Bafana" - Curio - 05-08-2006
A film depicting a special friendship between Nelson Mandela & James Gregory (who guarded him in prison) is apparantly being made. The film is based on a memoir by James Gregory which chronicles the intially racist wardens close relationship with Madiba.
Dennis Haysbert (President David Palmer in 24) to play Mandela.
Joseph Fiennes (William Shakespeare in Shakespeare in love) to play James Gregory.
Terry Pheto (from the movie Tsotsi) to play Madiba's daughter.
I believe Johnny Clegg has been asked to write a song for the upcoming movie.
It's been said that the film will cost around 155 million rand.
Will be interesting to see how it does once it's released.
