https://wordofmouthresearch.com/index2.php?nav=home

I keep getting emails like this below and it shows people digging up and placing info about me!!!
I have logged into the system and tried to find out about myself but the info is not forth coming which i believe is against my right to privacy, but do not have any idea how to go about finding out more; as you can guess i am not too happy about this

can anybody offer any advice here, it would be much appreciated

WordofMouthResearch.com Notification System

*This email is not spam.

Someone has just begun the process of meeting people who know you via our website.

This email was automatically sent to you to make you aware of this fact.

Why are we sending you this email?

When people find out others are talking about them -- whether it is good or bad -- they want to know. At WordofMouthResearch.com we feel responsible to alert people so they have an opportunity to find out what is being said.

To view all Word-of-Mouth Connections in our system regarding this email address click here:

We will notify you in the future if another user is researching you.

If you do not want to be informed in the future if this occurs again, please add your email address(es) to our Do Not Email List here -

We foster the spread of word-of-mouth because we believe it is one of te most genuine and accurate types of information available. Sure, you can "Google" someone, but chances are the results you find in that kind of a search will yield less direct personal testimonies.

Sincerely,

WordofMouthResearch Suppor

So it must be someone you know or who has your email address?

And i imagine the website gets money that way.... you register but to search anyone (ie yourself after getting that email) you will have to pay.

not nice at all.

Spam,bam, fank you mam!

A well known Spamhaus. Ignore them. You might also want to block any emails from the following domains as these are also domains which engage in similar rubbish:

reportdatabase.com
researchbackground.biz
researchingpeople.com
researchpeople.net
womc.info
womc.net
womexch.org
wordexch.biz
wordexch.com
wordmouthreports.com
wordmouthreports.org
word-of-mouth-connection.com
wordofmouthconnection.com
wordofmouthconnection.info
wordofmouthconnection.net
wordofmouthconnection.org
wordofmouthconnections.com
wordofmouthconnections.info
wordofmouthconnections.net
wordofmouthconnections.org
word-of-mouth.info
wordofmouth.info
wordofmouthinfo.com
wordofmouthinfo.info
wordofmouthinformation.org
word-of-mouth.org
wordofmouthreports.com
wordofmouthreports.org
wordofmouthresearch.com
WOMC.net
shareyourexperiences.com

I suspect that they get you to join up, take a fee and then tell you not to worry anymore as your info is safe. Their MO is to harvest email addy's off the net en masse so you neednt feel worried / impressed that someone is researching your background.

Ignore them and they will go away.

Try downloading mailwasher at http://www.mailwasher.net - it's free and you can bounce mails back to these people (and any others that bother you) and eventually your spam mail will be almost non-existant.

I have also wondered where the heck these ppl get my email addy from, apar from spyware etc. some friends of mine got some emails last week and we wondered how the heck the sic person could have got their email addy.

It occured to us that that sometimes people send *bulk* emails of jokes etc to a lot of ppl and instead of using bcc, they use cc and this way your email address is there for all to see.

Angel it is also caused by well meaning friends sending you polls, e-cards, letting web sites notify you of new offers etc.

Think carefully next time any of you decide to put someone elses email addy on a web site.
