BBC Big read - all 100 ! - Surita - 15-04-2004 I've read 16 of the books on this list and I must say it was rather a big shock becuase I always saw myself as proper "Bennie Boekwurm". I have some catching up to do. BBC Big read - all 100 ! - dudette - 15-04-2004 I've read 30. I have Birdsong by Sebastian Faulks and will read it sometime but haven't got the urge yet. I'm tempted by Rebecca be Daphne du Maurier and Catch 22. When I have the time... We will get there BBC Big read - all 100 ! - OrangeGrove - 15-04-2004 48 that I am sure of !!  BBC Big read - all 100 ! - Pampered - 15-04-2004 Only 26..... There are PLENTY on there I would love to read. One of my very first "adult" books was the Thorn Birds, and it is still one of the most magnificent love stories I have ever read!! Who else has read "War and Peace"? WHAT a terrible book! It was a punishment to read it, and I did it at 16! Needless to say, my mind has blocked out the story out of self preservation!! BBC Big read - all 100 ! - dudette - 15-04-2004 I'm saving War and Peace for one of those times I will be incapacitated for weeks in a hospital bed with nothing else to do. Eish, imagine wading through that at 16! You must have been very keen. BBC Big read - all 100 ! - Pampered - 15-04-2004 Quote:Originally posted by dudette Stupid and deluded, more like |
