Villeneuve leaves BMW by mutual consent

Jacques Villeneuve will not return to his BMW race seat, after the team announced on Monday morning that they had agreed to terminate his contract by mutual consent.

This guy has been a bit of a disappointment for me. After winning the World Champs those years back, I thought he could have built on that, however he has failed to show himself as a driver with much ability.

Maybe the World Championship came too early in his career?

It probably more to do with being with the right team at the right time because they had the right car. There are a number of drivers who win won championship and then have nothing else. Very few drivers have the ability to progress with a team when they are doing badly. Jenson is one of those drivers so hopefully his turn will come once Michael has retired.
