So as not to hi-jack another thread I've decided to post this list here:

Australia- Meat pie, hamburger with beetroot, fish and chips, Vegemite on toast, Pavlova
Austria - Sachertorte, wiener schnitzel (Vienna), apfelstrudel
Barbados - Cou-Cou and Flying fish
Belgium - pommes frites, moules bruxellois (Brussels)
Cambodia - ahmok, fried spider :yikes:
Canada - maple syrup, Kraft Dinner, Timbits.
Chile - sea bass, palta (avocado), jaivas (food)
China - The staple diets in Northern China are: mantou, bing (Chinese flatbread) and wheat noodles; as for the South: rice, rice noodles and rice congee.
Hong Kong - egg tart, dim sum, BBQ pork with rice, wonton noodle soup [1], pineapple bun [2]
Denmark - Pork Roast, Frikadeller, Smårrebråd
Finland - Karelian pasties, måmmi, hernekeitto (Finnish yellow pea soup)
France - Pot-au-feu, baguette (particularly Paris), cassoulet, truffles, foie gras (declared part of the French cultural heritage by legislation in 2005)[1]
Germany - Sauerkraut, Currywurst, eisbein, doner kebab
Greece - moussaka, gyros, Greek salad

Thanx to Wikipedia for the list, which I have shortened for this thread.

Some interesting choices for some of the national dishes on this list.

And to answer Hagar's question in the other thread, I was referring to the sauerkraut as I like the other German national dishes, though I am allergic to curry :bigcry:
