Hey Duck, you coping with all the ragging? I hope it is only your waistline that has shrunk! 
I continue to run along with some "mountain biking (hill biking?) which is fun. I can tell you that a good way to get fit is to walk up some mountains. 9 or 10 hours of arduous slogging with a backpack and the reward of a phenomenal view does wonders for fitness levels.
