Converting CD Audio Tracks

Windows media player will copy them for you....the cda files you mention are pretty meaningless...

Window Media Player should do it - use the Copy From CD button on the side.
Or try MusicMatch Jukebox which is pretty good.

I use MediaMonkey to play but without subscription can't rip so use iTunes to rip.

Windows Media Player will give you a wmv file which you probably need to convert to mp3 if you want to trim it, with something like mp3splitter

(all have free versions)
