Yes , I too have members of wife's wider family , who have made the informed choice : of staying on in S.A. ;
and are still there , after all these years , proclaiming extatic happiness with their respective choices !
Granted though , that they are mostly :
- in the Cape Province ,
- of very simple interests and limited abilities , but comfy means - and thus : totally disinterested in all the magnificent goodies , which we have and enjoy here...
Each to their own ( and I shall soon be abiding by E121 and E106 )!
