I am just back from the Lake District and the Highlands. Both stunningly beautiful in their own way. I dragged my pillow up Scafell Pike and then Ben Nevis. Fortunately my crampons gripped ok (lots of snow and ice) and I did not need my ice axe to self arrest my pillow from going over the edge. It was so cold that a certain part of my anatomy lost all feeling. ( no comments!!
) On two mornings, my tent was all covered in ice when I woke up. If you have a very warm sleeping bag (or in Ducks case, a young wife!!) I recommend it.
