Yes it does, and more! We are here on ancestral and until you get your passport you don't get any child benefit or tax credits or anything. The conditions of your visa is such that you have no recourse to public funds whatsoever. Also remember to get your National Insurance number as soon as possible when you arrive, because you end up paying emergency tax without it. At least we did, and that was a few years ago already.

Also bear in mind that you'll get issued with a 2 year visa and then you have to renu it again after that time...that costs a whole lots of money too... then when you apply for ILR you also end up paying out a lot for that.

I only have one child, but his nursery school fees are over £800 a month!
