Attached is a photo of a mounted collection of MaCleays Spectre - better known as the Australian Walkingstick.
This mounted collection was taken from the colony of insects that I have been looking after since summer. You can see all the life stages here - the winged insect is the mature male and the largest of the nymph form is the mature female.
I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but these creatures are fascinating!
