It was just one of the many sloganeering "Frankie Says" T-shirts designed by Katherine Hamnet for the band. In 1988 FGTH would experience the same trouble that would soon plague Milli Vanilli. A London court determined that FGTH did not play on their hits, and relied on the studio brilliance of producer trevor Horn and session players to form the distinctive Frankie Sound.

They were the first singing black group with "My Prayer" in April 1956, which was an adaptation of of a French song called "Avant de Mourir". They continued to perform (mostly in Europe and Asia) in one form or another until the early 80s.
