  Inner peace
Posted by: oe-la-la - 16-01-2007, 11:00 AM - Forum: Jokes Zone - No Replies

I am passing this on to you because it definitely worked for me and we
all could use more calm in our lives. By following the simple advice I
heard on a Dr.Phil show, I have finally found inner peace. Dr. Phil
proclaimed the way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things
you have started.
So I looked around my house to see things I started and hadn't finished;
and, before leaving the house this morning, I finished off a bottle of
Merlot, a bottle of Chardonay , a bole of Baileys, a butle of Kehuha, a
pockage of Tim Toms , tha mainder of bot Prozic and Valum scriptins, the
res of the Chesescke, some saltins an a bax a cholates.
Yu haf no idr who gud I fel.

SA Top 30 - Window on SA
Posted by: The Phoenix - 16-01-2007, 06:49 AM - Forum: Banter and ALL - No Replies

Hi Folks:

Ok, you have 30 days to spend in SA.

If you had to compile and visit a Top 30 list of your most stunning sights, places of interest, important historical significance, etc from all over South Africa - items that would show a kind of Window on SA - what would some of them be and why?

The list can include towns but also things like a battle site, a restaurant, a gravestone, factory, gold mine, harbour, etc etc.

Now there's a thought for the day... Where would you go to first?!

Who's in for this year's fantasy season ?
Posted by: Jangar - 15-01-2007, 11:05 PM - Forum: Formula1 - No Replies

Here's a copy of the email I got:

The Fantasy F1 competition at FSPORTS is now open for entries for our 2007 competition.

The competition rules are pretty much the same as 2006, although we have lifted the restriction on the number of changes you can make between races. For full details of our rules and scoring please visit the website - http://www.fsports.co.uk.

If you have previously played in any of our competitions there is no need to re-register - simply log in and make your selections. New players can register for FREE.

Regards,

Danny

The easy way to identify a song....
Posted by: Jangar - 15-01-2007, 10:58 PM - Forum: Your Music - No Replies

I got this info from Cheffie the other day:

Type 2580 into your mobile, hold it next to the speaker for a few seconds and a text message will come back and give you the title and artist of the song.

One of my chefs last night showed me and I was hugely impressed - we tend to have a 'pop quiz' with the radio on - names of songs, artists. movies it was in etc - and he blew me away!

Not sure if this makes sense.. but thought you might like to let people know for your music thread (if they and you don't know already) LOL..

Thanx Cheffie

I wish I was in the U.K. so that I could use this as I often have problems identifying newish songs.

Unfortunately I don't know if this only works with radio stations, which is what I think, or with all music sources. I'll have to bring over some "dodgy" MP3s on our next trip to the island to test it out. Smile

Evita in 'bid' for SA presidency
15/01/2007 12:16 - (SA)

Donwald Pressly

Cape Town - Evita Bezuidenhout, the drag character created by satirist Pieter-Dirk Uys, is to formally announce her candidacy for South African president later this month.

According to Diva Events, Marketing and Publicity, Bezuidenhout - the legendary former Ambassador to the independent apartheid homeland of the notional state Bapetikosweti - will launch her bid to take over from President Thabo Mbeki in 2009 when his two-term presidency comes to an end.

She will hold an "international" press conference at the Metropole Hotel, Long Street, Cape Town on Wednesday "to clarify as much as she can at this early stage".

According to Diva's Allison Foat, the "most famous white woman in South Africa" will launch her bid for the presidency at the Spier Summer Festival which is being held from 25 to 28 January.

The bid Evita for President has set the legendary old "boerekat" among the ambitious black economic empowerment pigeons, said Foat.

"Since announcing her plans to make herself available as a compromise choice for president of South Africa in 2009, Evita Bezuidenhout has been overwhelmed with messages of support," said the statement.

Also, questions are being asked about her plans. These questions have included what would her platform be? Which party would she represent?

"How many feet would she have to wash?"

How could a middle-aged white Afrikaner 'gogo' become the democratically elected leader of a young African democracy?

Would her apartheid background not stand in her way? And, last but not least, how many feet would she have to wash to become president?

Tea, coffee and koeksisters - traditional Afrikaner cakelets - will be served at the press conference.

  Did you know?
Posted by: oe-la-la - 15-01-2007, 01:39 PM - Forum: Poetry and Inspirations - No Replies

Did you know that those who appear to be very strong in heart, are real weak and most susceptible?
Did you know that those who spend their time protecting others are the ones that really need someone to protect them?
Did you know that the three most difficult things to say are:
I love you, Sorry, and Help me.

Did you know that those who dress in red are more confident in themselves?
Did you know that those who dress in yellow are those that enjoy their beauty?
Did you know that those who dress in black, are those who want to be unnoticed and need your help and understanding?
Did you know that when you help someone, the help is returned in two-fold?

Did you know that it's easier to say what you feel in writing than saying it to someone in the face? But did you know that it has more value when you say it to their face?
Did you know that if you ask for something in faith, your wishes are granted?
Did you know that you can make your dreams come true, like falling in love, becoming rich, staying healthy, if you ask for it by faith, and if you really knew, you'd be surprised by what you could do.

But, don't believe everything I tell you, until you try it for yourself, if you know someone that is in need of something that I mentioned, and you know that you can help, you'll see that it will be returned in two-fold :hartlik:
