.... the Who wants to be a millionair presenter had an affair and his wife has left him.

I read this: The 60-year-old celebrity said he still cared about her, though, and hoped she would recover soon. "I still love her," he continued. "I didnÂ’t mean for any of this to happen. How could I not love her? She's the mother of my children. She's hurt and I've no idea how long it will take for her to get over it - if at all. I'm hoping to move back into the family home but I can't until Ingrid has moved out - she's moving to the big house up the road with the kids."

Did he really, really think that having an affair won't effect his wife. What rubbish to say "I didn't mean for any of this to happen." Ai jai jai!!!

A Laugh

Miss Beatrice, the church organist, was in her eighties. She was admired for her sweetness and kindness to all. One afternoon the pastor came to call on her and she showed him into her quaint sitting room. She invited him to have a seat while she prepared tea.
As he sat facing her old Hammond organ, the young minister noticed a cut-glass bowl sitting on top of it. The bowl was filled with water, and in the water floated, of all things, a condom! When she returned with tea and scones, they began to chat.

The pastor tried to stifle his curiosity about the bowl of water and its strange floater, but soon it got the better of him and He could no longer resist. "Miss Beatrice", he said, "I wonder if you would tell me about this?" pointing to the bowl.

"Oh, yes," she replied, "Isn't it wonderful? I was walking through the
Park a few months ago and I found this little package on the ground. The directions said to place it on the organ, keep it wet and that it would prevent the spread of disease. Do you know I haven't had the flu all winter?"

Submit yourself to the will of God

and your prayers will be answered

Prayer cannot be separated from the rest of your life. There is no such thing as rattling off a quick prayer and then carrying on the way you want to. In John 15:7-8 Jesus tells us that if we remain in Him, we will be given what we pray for. A life of obedience to God is the road to, and the result of, a powerful life of prayer. Obedience to God changes the way you pray. Your prayers do not revolve around your own selfish needs any longer. They don't sound like someone shopping for groceries – "pass this, pass that, do this, help me here". No, your prayers will be about the most important matters on the agenda of your life, namely the glory of God and the building of his kingdom.

Believe me, prayer is a serious matter! Prayer is to speak with the King of the universe. Prayer can be a wondrous adventure if you pray in submission to God's will. If you do, the floodgates of heaven will be open above you night and day, because God hears and answers prayers like these. Go on, take a chance (regularly) at the doors of heaven in the Name of Jesus and see what happens!

Remember: Obedience to God = a powerful life of prayer

Peace

Schools slate leave plan for pregnant girls
Posted by: mcamp999 - 01-11-2006, 03:10 PM - Forum: Southern Africa - No Replies

This may not be as bad an idea as it appears on the surface. At least the girl would then be able to continue to get an education, and thereby be able to provide for her family.

  RIP - PW Botha
Posted by: tezhed - 31-10-2006, 09:44 PM - Forum: Banter and ALL - No Replies

South Africa's last hardline white president, PW Botha, has died peacefully at home on the southern Cape coast. He was 90.

Botha led the country through its worst racial violence and deepest international isolation.

Known for his finger-wagging, confrontational style and nicknamed the "Old Crocodile'' for his feared temper, Botha served as head of the white apartheid government from 1978 to 1989.

Throughout his leadership he resisted mounting pressure to release South Africa's most famous political prisoner, Nelson Mandela, who was freed by Botha's successor, FW de Klerk, in 1990.

The Truth and Reconciliation Commission, a panel set up by Mandela's government to probe abuses, concluded in 1998 that Botha was guilty of gross human rights violations by ordering killings and bombings.

But his failing health helped him escape prosecution and he spent his final years in seclusion in a seaside resort rather than in jail.
