All the pine trees in Tokai and Cecilia plantations to be felled by 2025
Posted by: mcamp999 - 20-10-2006, 01:33 PM - Forum: Southern Africa - No Replies

October 20, 2006 Edition 2

Melanie Gosling

By 2025 all the pine trees in Cecilia and Tokai plantations will be gone and no new plantations will be established in their place.

The pines will be cut down in blocks over the next 20 years and sold for timber, and the indigenous fynbos and Afromontane forests re-established.

Within the next 10 years, most of the pines will have gone from the lower areas of Tokai.

Hi there everyone.

Sorry we haven't been around for a while. We were just caught up with too many happenings in the Land of the Long White Cloud. :engel:

It is good to see everyone having some good singing-a-long. :choir:

We are still waiting for the bright sunny days to come to Wellies and stay a while. For now, the sun seems to be 'popping around' for a short while, spending a day or two with us and then disappearing and making space for more rain to come down and spend weeks with with us. :rainy:

At least Monday is a public holiday (or as you would put it a Bank Holiday). So yipeeeeee here comes a long weekend. :cheer:

  Household Goods
Posted by: Bean of Love - 18-10-2006, 08:28 PM - Forum: Your Classifieds - No Replies

At long last.. it seems as if the sale of our property is just abou to exchange and we will be exchanign on our new house in just a week. I am excited, but yet quite daunted by the task.

I need to get rid of a few things because we are going into storage first...

I have the following items for sale / give away:

A 4 seater geniune Railway sleeper diningroom set with 2 coffee tables. We had this made so it is very rustic and original... it cost circa R8,000 3 years ago and we are looking to sell it for £350,00 onco.

A fish tank with all te filters and goodies... Free

A rabbit hutch with 2 small rabbits (I am told they are both male) as we don't have space in the new house for them... Free to a good home

A virtually new dishwasher - Bosch silver 12 place setting (60cm) for £100 onco

Please PM me if you know anybody who might be interested.

All items to be picked up from Coventry/Rugby before 15 November

So sê my Chappies-papiertjie, in alle geval. “Feit” nommer 47, vir wat dit werd is.

Kan dit regtig waar wees? Ek weet my neus is nie klein nie, maar die ding is darem seker nie groter as laasjaar hierdie tyd nie, of hoe? My naam is tog nie Pinocchio nie?

Die Chappie self, Â’n groene, is in my mond. Nou-nou, as hy lekker deurgekou is, gaan ek Â’n borrel blaas. Hoop ek kan nog.

Die stukkie gom het ek vroeër vandag gekoop by Betty’s Tea Room, ’n eetplek by 44 Stanley Avenue in Johannesburg. Dertig sent daarvoor betaal.

  2010 Cup: Stop negativity
Posted by: Guest - 18-10-2006, 03:13 PM - Forum: Southern Africa - No Replies

you have to admit that the saps under the current minister are not really addressing the prime concern: crime. their disingenuous manner of collating "statistics" leaves much to the imagination.

apart from that i am only aware of ethekwini/durban having started building their version of the 2010 stadia! cape town is still dithering, and i cannot speak for jhburg, but we are running out of time if we are serious about handling the biggest event in the world.
