  Happy Friday
Posted by: Jangar - 03-08-2006, 11:52 PM - Forum: Banter and ALL - Replies (3)

Countdown to the weekend has started :jive: Only a few more hours to go Big Grin

We have nothing planned for the weekend except attacking the hedge and a shed that needs to be cleaned / sorted. (And mirrors that need to be put up and.... and.... Does the list (n)ever end :bigcry: )

At least the weather looks to be ok for the weekend and if not there is always a :f1: GP to watch Big Grin

I hope you all have a lekker day and weekend too.

:weekend:

  Summary of life
Posted by: oe-la-la - 03-08-2006, 02:50 PM - Forum: Banter and ALL - Replies (3)

Summary of Life

GREAT TRUTHS THAT LITTLE CHILDREN HAVE LEARNED:

1) No matter how hard you try, you can't baptise cats.
2) When your Mum is mad at your Dad, don't let her brush your hair.
3) If your sister hits you, don't hit her back. They always catch the second person.
4) Never ask your 3-year old brother to hold a tomato.
5) You can't trust dogs to watch your food.
6) Don't sneeze when someone is cutting your hair.
7) Never hold a Dust-Buster and a cat at the same time.
8) You can't hide a piece of broccoli in a glass of milk.
9) Don't wear polka-dot underwear under white shorts.
10) The best place to be when you're sad is Grandpa's lap.

GREAT TRUTHS THAT ADULTS HAVE LEARNED:

1) Raising teenagers is like nailing jelly to a tree.
2) Wrinkles don't hurt.
3) Families are like fudge...mostly sweet, with a few nuts.
4) Today's mighty oak is just yesterday's nut that held its ground.
5) Laughing is good exercise. It's like jogging on the inside.
6) Middle age is when you choose your cereal for the fibre, not the toy.

GREAT TRUTHS ABOUT GROWING OLD

1) Growing old is mandatory; growing up is optional.
2) Forget the health food. I need all the preservatives I can get.
3) When you fall down, you wonder what else you can do while you're down there.
4) You're getting old when you get the same sensation from a rocking chair that you once got from a roller coaster.
5) It's frustrating when you know all the answers but nobody bothers to ask you the questions.
6) Time may be a great healer, but it's a lousy beautician.
7) Wisdom comes with age, but sometimes age comes alone.

THE FOUR STAGES OF LIFE:

1) You believe in Santa Claus.
2) You don't believe in Santa Claus.
3) You are Santa Claus.
4) You look like Santa Claus.

SUCCESS:

At age 4 success is . . . not piddling in your pants.
At age 12 success is . . . having friends.
At age 17 success is . . having a drivers licence.
At age 35 success is . . having money.
At age 50 success is . . . having money.
At age 70 success is . .. . having a drivers licence.
At age 75 success is . . . having friends.
At age 80 success is . . . not piddling in your pants.

Always remember to forget the troubles that pass your way; BUT NEVER forget the blessings that come each day.

Have a wonderful day with many *smiles* Big Grin

Take the time to live!!!
Life is too short. Dance naked

  BBC - Football Hooligans
Posted by: tezhed - 03-08-2006, 04:35 AM - Forum: Banter and ALL - Replies (6)

I sat and watched in disgust the documentary last night about the England hooligans that went over to Germany.
I was particularly appalled by the one wearing the burberry cap that tried lighting the Brazillian flag. - one word came to mind and it wasn,t a pleasant one.

I can only wonder whether the SAPS are ready for this kind of thuggery in 2010

I am ashamed to think that they are allowed to breathe the same air as me.

I bet they were all unemployed trash cashing in their Giro cheques

  Crime Warning
Posted by: Robok - 02-08-2006, 04:22 PM - Forum: Jokes Zone - Replies (3)

I need to warn you about a new crime wave hitting the country.

Last night I was attacked and forced to the ground. The guy pushed
something into my pocket and ran away. When I looked what it was,
I saw it's a ticket to the next Springbok rugby game.

Please be careful, these people are desperate to get rid of these
tickets and will stop at nothing

  A day at the Spa
Posted by: Pronkertjie - 02-08-2006, 03:46 PM - Forum: Banter and ALL - Replies (20)

A friend received a birthday gift in May from the special man in her life for her and I to go to a Spa for the day. :cloud9:

Tomorrow is the day!!!! Yippeeeeee!!! It will be a full day as a few pamperings are planned for the day.

Feeling a bit guilty to spend so much money on myself for a few hours..... but I am going to enjoy every minute of it. :cluck:

**** now if only he will give her a ride in a hot air balloon with her friend next time ****

  Rumour or fact?
Posted by: btonki - 02-08-2006, 01:03 PM - Forum: Travel and Immigration - Replies (3)

I heard the other day that you will no longer be able to enter the UK via ancestral visa as from the end of the year. Is this true, and of so, could anyone point out the relevant info on a website. I've been on the IND and can't find anything about it being stopped, just that you now have to have a visa for 5 years.

Can anyone make the waters clearer for me? :beg:
