Has anyone been to the Borough Market at London Bridge yet. I am meeting a friend in London and she suggested we go there. She hasn't been either.

Is it worth going there? :mmm:

No - I am not a fan but I have a friend at work who has 4 tickets to the concert on Sunday at Milton Keynes... anyone interested in making him an offer for the tickets???

Let me know by 3pm as I will either collect said tickets and if you live my way drop said tickets off - or failing that he can pop them in the post. They are worth £160 but he is open to offers (p.s. that is £160 for all four)

In the hospital the relatives gathered in the waiting room, where their family member lay gravely ill.

Finally, the doctor came in looking tired and sombre.



"I'm afraid I'm the bearer of bad news," he said as he surveyed the worried faces.

"The only hope left for your loved one at this time is a brain transplant.

It's an experimental procedure, very risky but it is the only hope.

Insurance will cover the procedure, but you will have to pay for the brain yourselves.."

The family members sat silent as they absorbed the news. After a great length of time, someone asked , "Well, how much does a brain cost?"

The doctor quickly responded, "$5,000 for a male brain, and $200 for a female brain"

The moment turned awkward. Men in the room tried not to smile, avoiding eye contact with the women, but some actually smirked.

A man unable to control his curiosity, blurted out the question everyone wanted to ask,

"Why is the male brain so much more ?"

The doctor smiled at the childish innocence and explained to the entire group, "It's just standard pricing procedure. We have to mark down the price of the female brains, because they've actually been used."

As some of you may be aware, I am struggling to get a Schengen visa for August. I have now been able to get an appointment with the German consulate for the end of July. The thing is, unlike the other consulates who will issue this visa no problem as I am married to a British citizen, they need me to supply an address in Germany where I am proposing to stay. As any trips we make are usually last minute deals, this is rather a dificult thing to do in advance, so if anyone can help me out with an address it would be much appreciated via PM or E-mail mcamp999 at AOL.com

Last week my lovely hubby bought me a box of those marshmallow easter eggs that I don't get to eat much of these days ( something to do with only being available in SA or something...:cheeky: ) and I happen to notice the big adverts all around the box and the packaging that there is R25000 to be won EVERY WEEK. Competition not open to Non-SA residents, which is fair enough.

Imagine my surprise and delight when I do open an egg and find a Golden Egg sticker inside the wrapper! "Never Mind," I think, "I may not be a resident but I know a few people who are" and phone my mom with the details so she could claim the prize.
Started imagining how that R25000 could ease the lives of my nearest and dearest, perhaps my mom could use it to even come and visit us! :cloud9:

Phoned the number, while considering which is the quickest way to courier the said wrapper to my mom, and hoping its not too expensive.

Only to find that the competition is now closed :bigcry:


So there you have it, Proof yet again that even when I Win, I lose... :duh:

It's just before the England v Brazil match. Ronaldinho goes into the Brazilian changing room to find all his teammates looking a bit glum.
What's up?" he asks.
"Well, we're having trouble getting motivated for this game. We know it's important but it's only England. They're sh*te and we can't be bothered."
Ronaldinho looks at them and says, "Well, I reckon I can beat them by myself... you lads go down the pub."
So Ronaldinho goes out to play England by himself and the rest of the Brazilian team go off for a few jars. After a few pints they wonder how the game is going, so they get the landlord to put the teletext on. A big cheer goes up as the screen reads "Brazil 1 - England 0 (Ronaldinho 10 minutes)". He is beating England all by himself!
A few pints later and the game is forgotten until someone remembers,
"It must be full time now, let's see how he got on." They put the teletext on.
"Result from the Stadium 'Brazil 1 (Ronaldinho 10 minutes) - England 1 (Beckham 89 minutes)." They can't believe it, heÂ’s single-handedly got a draw against England!!
They rush back to the Stadium to congratulate Ronaldinho. They find him in the dressing room, still in his gear, sitting with his head in his hands. He refuses to look at them. "I've let you down, I've let you down."
"Don't be crazy, you got a draw against England, all by yourself and they only scored at the very, very end!"
"No, no, I have, I've let you down.......I got sent off after 12 minutes....!!"

We're in the last stages of beautifying our house before our visitors from SA arrive. My best friend arrives on Monday, my mom on Tuesday, & my brother & his family arrive next Friday. My cup runneth over at the thought of all my nearest & dearest being in my home all at the same time! :hooray:
