  British women are the best
Posted by: 330kitten - 28-03-2006, 11:41 AM - Forum: Jokes Zone - No Replies

Three men were sitting together bragging about how they had given their

new wives duties.

Terry had married a woman from America, and bragged that he had told his

wife she was going to do all the dishes and house cleaning that needed

to be done at their home. He said that it took a couple days but on the

third day he came home to a clean house and the dishes were all washed

and put away.

Jimmy had married a woman from Australia. He bragged that he had given

his wife orders that she was to do all the cleaning, dishes, and the

cooking. He told them that the first day he didn't see any results, but

the next day it was better. By the third day, his house was clean, the

dishes were done, and he had a huge dinner on the table.

>> >

The third man had married a British girl. He boasted that he told her

that her duties were to keep the house cleaned, dishes washed, lawn

mowed, laundry washed and hot meals on the table for every meal. He said

the first day he didn't see anything, the second day he didn't see

anything, but by the third day most of the swelling had gone down and he

could see a little out of his left eye. Enough to fix himself a bite to

eat, load the dishwasher, and call a landscaper.

God Bless British Women

  Water vs Alcohol
Posted by: oe-la-la - 28-03-2006, 08:16 AM - Forum: Jokes Zone - Replies (1)

Water vs Alcohol

It has been scientifically proven that if we drink one
litre of water each day, at the end of the year we
would have absorbed more than one kilo of Escherichia
Coli Bacteria found in water that contains faeces.
In other words, we are consuming one kilo of sh*t.
However, we do not run that risk when drinking rum,
gin, whiskey, beer, wine or other liquors because
alcohol has to go through a distillation process
of boiling, filtering and fermentation.

It is my duty to communicate to all of you people who
are drinking water, to stop doing so. It has been
scientifically proven that it is unhealthy and bad for
you.
THEREFORE - It is better to drink alcohol and talk
sh*t than to drink water and be full of it ! :yikes:

  Windmills Of Your Mind .........

When once you have tasted flight: you will always walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always be ....

Use what talent you possess - the woods would be very silent if no birds sang, except those that sang best ........

To desire and strive to be of some service to the world, to aim doing something which shall really increase the happiness and welfare and virtue of mankind - this is a choice which is possible for all of us, and surely it is a good haven to sail for ?

Time is too slow for those who wait, too swift for those who fear, too long for those who grief, too short for those who rejoice - but for those who love - time is eternity .........

There is only one way of getting ready for immortality - and that is to love this life and live it as bravely and faithfully and cheerfully as we can !!!

There is no personal charm so great, as the charm of a cheerful temperament .....

There is a loftier ambition than merely to stand high in the world. It is to stoop down and lift mankind a little higher .......

The first day of spring is one thing, and the first spring day another - the difference between them is sometimes as great as a month ........

Some people are so afraid to die - that they never begin to live !!!

Look around for a place to sow a few seeds ......

In the progress of personality, first comes a declaration of independence - then a recognition of inter-dependence ......

I thank God for the honesty and virility of religion which makes us face the facts and calls us to take a man's part in the real battle of life .....

He that planteth a tree is a servant of God, he provideth a kindness for many generations, and faces that he hath not seen shall bless him ......

Half of the unrest and dismal, profound sadness of modern society comes from the vain ideas that every man is bound to be a critic for life ........

Be glad of life because it gives you the chance to love, to work, to play, and to look up at the stars .........

As long as habit and routine dictate the pattern of living - new dimensions of the soul will not emerge !!!

The Traveler - John Twelve Hawks
Posted by: Cheffie - 27-03-2006, 10:26 AM - Forum: The Book Club - Replies (4)

Anyone read the book yet?

Just finished it and was fascinated! His only interview to date?

http://www.sffworld.com/mul/146p0.html

Though the scientific references interest me, the whole theme of the book takes a little while to get into.

Really fascinating when you do the google bit and go through the various links.

Raises some interesting questions and looking forward to the next 2 books
