  Growing up anthems...
Posted by: Jangar - 02-12-2005, 04:37 PM - Forum: Your Music - No Replies

Am busy watching "So 80's" on VH1 and they just played one of my, if not the, teen anthem for me...

Toyah's "I want to be Free" ...

Did you have a 'personal' anthem in your teens and if so what was it ? (I'm just feeling nosey again :p )

  European Directive on Tax on Savings, Dividends etc...
Posted by: Ray - 01-12-2005, 01:19 PM - Forum: Member and SAffer owned businesses - No Replies

The Directive has been implemented , as from 1. July 2005 ;
it targets ALL expatriates with interest-bearing bank accounts anywhere
in the EU-land , as well as in Switzerland, Liechtenstein , Monaco , Andorra , Channel Islands , Isle of Man and other cooperating jurisdictions ;
the tax ( disclosed and/or deducted ) is currently 15% , raising to 20% in 2008 and then to 35% ( THIRTY-FIVE PERCENT ) from 2011 !
In addition , the U.S. banks also deduct tax , at rates of anything between 15 and 30 percent p.a. ) if the expat has an address in the EU or any of above jurisdictions , or any others with which US has bilateral interest-taxation agreements.
There are ways and means now available , though , to legally avoid having to suffer this tax.
My firm has assisted many South Africans
( and other expatriates : Brits , Skandies , Germans etc. )
to protect and enhance their financial position and circumstances...

  Games to be deleted
Posted by: ForumAdmin - 30-11-2005, 06:57 PM - Forum: Your Arcade - No Replies

Hi there

we will begin removing games which are not popular and which never get played

Is there anything top of the list?

This is to make way for the new games, so that we can continue adding a new game a week

Thank you

  Gluhwein - a day in advance required
Posted by: Cheffie - 30-11-2005, 12:12 PM - Forum: Recipes - No Replies

I cannot remember where I put my last recipe for it but its something as follows... :wall:

(Highlander.. I'm sure you're the only one who'll attempt the whole recipe Wink :innocent:
Big Grin )

(please note that the wine must not boil. it should be brought up to temperature no higher than 68c - alcohol tends to burn off at 70c )

30L Red wine
5L Orange juice
5 x 750ml Bottle brandy
20no Orange (remove skin and then chop up coarsely)
2kg Demerara sugar
30no Bay Leaves
50no Cloves
10no Cinnamon Sticks
Y= approx 37L

(reduce proportionately for smaller measures)

Bring up to temperature stirring until the sugar dissolves. Allow to cool naturally and leave to infuse for a maximum of 6 hours. Strain all the bits out and refrigerate overnight.

Reheat when required and be careful not to exceed the 68c - a digital thermometer will be quite handy Wink

Enjoy... watch out for the kick tho LOL

Ben skryf:
So 'n paar jaar gelede was my vrou Kolporteur van ons kerk.

:haha:

Beckham trained at the Bobby Charlton Soccer School as a boy
England captain David Beckham has described the official opening of his football academy as a dream come true.
