  Action Rhymes
Posted by: dudette - 05-12-2004, 05:51 PM - Forum: Parenting and Children - Replies (14)

My little baby is now 20 months old and she's really cottoned on to action rhymes like my other two never did.

She loves the following ones :

Cobbler Cobbler mend my shoe;
Wind the bobbin up;
Twinkle Twinkle little Star;
Incy Wincy Spider...

, but that's all I can remember the words and actions to!

Which ones do you remember doing with your little ones?

How about we write down a few lyrics from a song & then you have to guess the song?

Here goes............

That's all I wanted, something special, something sacred in your eyes.

From what movie was the song "Unchained melody" by the Righteous brothers?

Hope others ask some too.

According to VH1 that is...

Here are the bottom 5:

20 Cindy Lauper - Girls Just Wanna have Fun.

19 Buggels - Video Killed the Radio Star

18 Robbie Williams - Millenium

17 Belinda Carlisle - Heaven is a Place on Earth

16 Duran Duran - Wild Boys

So what is your guess for number 1 ?

I'll post the next 5 as soon as I know what they are Smile

  Blapse in kerkblaadjies
Posted by: oe-la-la - 11-11-2004, 01:00 PM - Forum: Praat Afrikaans - Replies (1)

Oggenddiens : Ds. Bruwer - Die wereld se grootste probleem

  Sleep
Posted by: dudette - 09-11-2004, 10:59 PM - Forum: Parenting and Children - Replies (4)

My daughter is 10 and I really struggle to get her to bed before 10 in the evening ... she says she's not tired, and struggles to get to sleep,even if the lights go off half and hour before. She does struggle to get up at 7 in the morning too, but other than physically taping her eyelids shut at night, I have no idea as how to get her to sleep earlier.
My son, who was always easier to get to sleep is now also finding it more difficult to nod off.

All my friends children also struggle to go to sleep earlier than 9.30, but this can't be right, surely?

I don't remember going to sleep later than 9pm until I was much older than them, and my husband was the same.

Who else has this problem?
