My 7 month old grandson is visiting and has 6 teeth. We have given him biltong - really dry and no fat- to chew and he loves it. Does anybody else give their little teethers biltong to chew or is it considered old fashioned? I remember giving both my daughters ostrich biltong to chew and then giving the "chewings" to the dog. By the way grandson is having venison biltong - lucky boy!!!

No Windows Picture and Fax Viewer
Posted by: nataliiie - 17-07-2004, 09:44 PM - Forum: Your Computers, Gadgets and Software - Replies (8)

My laptop doesn't have Windows Picture and Fax Viewer. My operating system is Windows 2000 with Office XP.

Is there any way I can get this back (not sure if I had it to start with) and / or download?

Linux Mandrake 10 beats the hell out of Window$
Posted by: Hampshire Hog - 17-07-2004, 09:13 PM - Forum: Your Computers, Gadgets and Software - Replies (10)

I have finally got my Internet connection working in Linux. As you can see from this thread created via the New Linux Mandrake 10. As a newbie I still have some way to go but at least I can start shaking off Bill Gate$'s baby and the blue screen of death. :bashpc:

I would like to thank picanin for the help and suggestions he has contributed to me and others on the subject. Thanks also for recommending Linux Mandrake 10.

I started with Redhat 9 and failed to get a proper connection to the Internet. It just kept redialling the connection. I even tried SuSE Linux 8.2 Professional without real success. They both worked well in every other aspect of the system. Maybe it was too complex for me as a newbie. Now with Linux Mandrake 10, so far so good. Still exploring all the "goodies" that comes with it. It seems it has all you need to run a complete computer system.

Watch this space!

  Bicycles

We bought me a bicycle with a child seat this past week, and although I am very very unfit, I have taken two half-hour rides on it already and am not stiff! Smile
This makes me ever more optimistic about gettingthe exercise I need in order to get more healthy and of course, slimmer! We cycled to the children's school and a trip that usually takes us 20 minutes on foot took us about 7!
I am so looking forward to using my new toy! Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin

  Yorkie
Posted by: Bean of Love - 15-07-2004, 09:49 PM - Forum: Fauna - No Replies

I wonder if anyone could help.... We have now nearly been here on mud island for a year, and it has been a year since I had to give my doggels away.. :bigcry:

Now I am looking for another doggel to take his place. Obviously I can't have a big Bull Terrier again 'coz he/she would freeze in winter and leaving him/her inside would be cruel... SO

I am looking for a Yorkie. I have a cat flap which the little nunnu can use when I am at work, and a Yorkie is also small enough to drive around in the car.

To try and get a dog from the RSPCA is more difficult than to adopt a baby in this country. I would appreciate any help / suggestions.

Thanx!

  The reason for weight gain
Posted by: dudette - 13-07-2004, 11:59 AM - Forum: Your Health, Fitness and Wellbeing - Replies (12)

could be our Western diet of white bread

White bread

I also firmly believe that there is too much salt in our bread - I actually went through all the brands at our local Sainsbury's and none of them had less than 1g of sodium per 100g! I can taste it's too salty!
Bearing in mind we're not supposed to have more than 2g per day, it does make one wonder, doesn't it?

Can someone please try & help me. I can't seem to get into my norton anti-virus anymore. When I click on it something comes up saying "This program has performed an illegal operation & will be shut down"???? Right at the top it says NMain.
I do have another anti-virus (AVG) & luckily that one is working ok.
Any assistance/advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.
