You need to send them a letter giving them 7 working days to rectify the matter, they have to hand over the keys immediately, it would not do any harm laying a complaint at the local police station regarding the keys, so you are covered if anything goes wrong. Damages include the damage to the property and also mental angquish, Go for it dont let them get away with it, absolute scum if you ask me, so many of them around these days. Re the keys.....whenever I move I change the outside locks as a matter of course..... House Buying - You Have To Be Crazy! - Joan - 07-01-2005 spam Wrote:move in, payed occupational rent, did all sorts of things to the house and then left owing big bucks in rent, Hi spam, thought the hairy backs and rock spiders could not speak English ( or spell it for that matter...) Should it not be "paid" Just kidding, the Americans have developed a whole new system of spelling... soos die ou boere, spel soos jy praat.............. :crylol: House Buying - You Have To Be Crazy! - Bean of Love - 07-01-2005 As much as I am trying to get excited... I just can't! :bigcry: :bigcry: We have the carpet cleaners at the house now, and they phoned hubby to tell him that they are not able to get any hot water. Luckily he was still out there so he went past the house...remembering that the new house is about 45 miles away from where we currently live. No heating and no hot water. What next? I have honestly NEVER in my entire life had such a horrible stressful experience! Spam... I know what you are saying that it happens in SA too, but there you are better protected... I used to work for Conveyancers in SA and things are a lot less complicated than here. In SA you get paid occupational rent, here there is no such option, and once the transaction is completed, you get your keys, and then only are you able to see how the previous people messed things up. We now have all the keys to the house, so that problem has been resolved, and the guy had his gambling machines removed from the garage.... but it is just one thing on top of another! I am really not being negative, but this past Christmas period has been a nightmare and to have to cope with this rubbish just aint any fun! You know when bad luck just seems to keep on flowing towards you like a raging river... that is basically how I feel! :wall: :wall: House Buying - You Have To Be Crazy! - jewels - 11-01-2005 alwayssmilin Wrote:You can go down to the County Court pay about 120pounds, sue for damages resulting in a county court judgement against them.
