Left is horizontal and right is vertical. The Etch A Sketch landed on shelves in the 1960s, and not much about it has changed. The silver coating is made of aluminium powder and plastic beads, which fall away as rods touch the screen. Its maker Ohio Art Company, tried selling different-coloured frames in the 1970s, but consumers preferred the vlassic red.
It has been fun catching up and hopefully there will be another 2 catch up threads this year, one for when Venus comes for a holiday soon and a second for when we move into our new home
