There is one option where you could speak to an operator, but in true Home Affairs style...nobody answers the phone! :duh:

A child passport should not take more than a few weeks. This is simply because the application is not subject to the checks that the adult applications are put through. SA House claim it takes months but the passport office in pretoria will tell you something else. In fact they are getting quite tired of having the blame for the delays in issuing passports placed on them by SA House when the problem would appear to lie here.
