The Sex Gang Children which was eventually used by another band. Boy George decided that his band needed a name that allowed them to "be all things to all people". The "culture" half of their name implied that they would be borrowing from different facets of world music for their sound, while the "club" reference paid homage to Boy George's roots as the king of the London nightclub scene.
