Morning from Monteseel
Jen, 2 more to go........I am heading up the hill for Polly Shortts :yikes: Hope my legs hold out...... Thank you to all my seconders toked: could not do it without all the support.
I am finding that as the treatments progress I am becoming more 'insular' if that is the correct term in the days following the chemo. Not sure why that is but I tend to want to be bt myself and get on with my work, keep focussed on what I enjoy and just get through tht first week.
This past week has been really busy. I cannot drive on the Monday and Tuesday following the Friday treatment so I work from home. Normally by Wednesday I find my 'chemo brain' is back in working order and i can get beind the wheel once more.
We have major events happening for the whole of August and in to September so there is much to do which is good for me because I can keep my focus on others and not on myself.
I think this is helping the 'time factor' because time is going very quickly and on the 22nd August it will be treatment 5 and then their will be just one more to go and I will pass the finishing line in Pietermaritzburg......how cool is that!
My ticket's are booked for my trip home to be with family for Christmas and New Year. I need to prove to them that I am not on death's door and that life does go on as normal despite the challenges :engel:
Cheffie.......thank's once again for your call. You have been so supportive throughout and I definately want to make a plan to come and have pie chips and gravy in your posh restaurant
Gemma arrives in SA for her 30th birthday in November so we plan to spend some time 'in the bush' to just relax and enjoy time together. I am really looking forward to her visit and am so glad that my treatment will be over by the time she comes. I will need to find myself a really cool bush cap to keep the sun off the bonce!
No it is time for a cuppa.....have a great weekend everyone!
