Belgian Saffers - here we are
#11
Well Koeks, on behalf of my other half and myself, you are always welcome to visit and chat.
It is not Zululand but as long as we have our braai and boerewors and beer all is well.

If there are any Saffies in the Brussels region then have a look at http://www.freewebs.com/vettergroupcom for various information that might be of help

Have a great Easter holiday

Pica,

I think
Koeksuster is based in Belgium so maybe you'll have better luck there Smile

My wife was born in Harare ( then known as Salisbury ) , but has spent most of her teenage and adult life in Johannesburg ;
now we live in uptown Bruxelles ( Ixelles/Uccle ) .
We have travelled extensively , before having settled here ;
there's pro's and con's to be found everywhere , and people are people - good , bad 'n' indifferent ! - whereever life takes one...
the quality of life is great in Benelux , I find - whereas my wife continues to whinge about the weather daily , as in : " cold , rain , dark...etc"
- the usual , for saffers-females in norther Europe , I wonder?
Looking forward to hear from - and/or meet South Africans in/around here

It was grrreat !!!
Nice place , easy to get to...
met many nice people , chatted to quite a few ;
the Chef ( Belgian , I understand , but : ex-S.A. ) excelled ,
both in quality and quantity !
Had some v. enlightening conversations, and much of various , albeit : fruity S.A. cabernet sauvignon-like wines ...
If you can organise another one like that , I declare myself available immediately!
2nd best , I'd settle for a braai ?Or a ( good = Belgian ) beer
with my S.A. " coussins" ...???
Let me know , hoor ?

Gee, I really miss Belgium so much I can't tell you. I moved back to the UK 18 months ago and I'd do anything to move back to Belgium if I could get a job there!

Glad to hear you had a good time at the gathering.

Thanks for the offer Ray but I have to hang around the UK just for a while longer. I do regular trips to my beloved Belgique tho' like last Thursday. For other Saffers in Belgium here is the clubs new website (even though I'm not affiliated with it any longer :-( http://www.saclub.be

Cheers
