This is a great recipe I always get compliments on. I've baked it with canned fruit and fresh fruit and it never fails.
1 stick butter/margarine (1/2 cup)
1 cup self-raising flour or 1 cup regular flour with 1 1/2 tsp. bicarb.
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 can fruit pie filling (567 -595g).
Melt butter and pour into baking dish - set aside
In mixing bowl combine flour and sugar
Slowly add milk and mix until smooth
Add vanilla
Pour mixture on top of butter
Spoon fruit evenly on top.
Bake for 1 hr. at 180C (350F)
