Thinking in pairs

Easch word pair below is an anagram of a common eight-letter word that way be worth 50 extra points if one of the letters is open on the board. Can you find all three bonus words?

BOOS CAKE

HEED TUNA

GAUM COAL

Didn't understand this though:

You get 50 bonus points for using all seven tiles on your rack, and the eight letter obviously has to be on the board and open so that you can use it Big Grin

:tired: The question is "make an 8 letter word from each group of 8 letters"

It just so happens that to make an 8 letter word in scrabble you need to use one letter already on the board, this is because you only have 7 letters on your rack.
To use a letter on the board it obviously has to be 'open' - i.e. available to fit in the correct position with your 7 letters, and also without creating some other word in the process that is not a word, if you get my drift.

Having used all 7 letters from your rack you will score a bonus 50 points on top of your word score on the board.

If you still don't follow, and you still could be bothered, read here Cool
