It was mealtime during a flight on WestJet
Airlines.
"Would you like dinner?" the flight attendant
asked John, seated in front.
"What are my choices?" John asked.
"Yes or no," she replied.
A lady was picking through the frozen turkeys
at the grocery store but she couldn't find one
big enough for her family.
She asked a stock boy, "Do these turkeys get
any bigger?"
The stock boy replied, "No ma'am, they're
dead."
The cop got out of his car and the kid who was
stopped for speeding rolled down his window.
"I've been waiting for you all day," the cop
said.
The kid replied, "Yeah, well I got here as fast
as I could."
When the cop finally stopped laughing, he sent
the kid on his way without a ticket.
A truck driver was driving along on the
freeway. A sign warned, " Low Bridge Ahead."
Before he knew it, the bridgewas right ahead of
him and he got stuck under the bridge.
Cars backed up for miles.
Finally, a police car arrives. The cop gets out
of his car and walks to the truck driver, puts
his hands on his hips and says, "Got stuck,
huh?" The truck driver says, "No, I was
delivering this bridge and ran out of gas."

Housework cuts breast cancer risk |

:canwin: Women who exercise by doing the housework can reduce their risk of breast cancer, a study suggests.
The research on more than 200,000 women from nine European countries found doing household chores was far more cancer protective than playing sport.
Dusting, mopping and vacuuming was also better than having a physical job.
The women in the Cancer Research UK-funded study spent an average of 16 to 17 hours a week cooking, cleaning and doing the washing.
Something as simple and cheap as doing the housework can help
Dr Lesley Walker of Cancer Research UK
Experts have long known that physical exercise can reduce the risk of breast cancer, probably through hormonal and metabolic changes.
But it has been less clear how much and what types of exercise are necessary for this risk reduction.
And much of past work has examined the link between exercise and breast cancer in post-menopausal women only.
The latest study looked at both pre- and post-menopausal women and a range of activities, including work, leisure and housework.
All forms of physical activity combined reduced the breast cancer risk in post-menopausal women, but had no obvious effect in pre-menopausal women.
Chores protected
Out of all of the activities, only housework significantly reduced the risk of both pre- and post-menopausal women getting the disease.
Housework cut breast cancer risk by 30% among the pre-menopausal women and 20% among the post-menopausal women.
The women were studied over an average of 6.4 years, during which time there were 3,423 cases of breast cancer.
The international authors said their results suggested that moderate forms of physical activity, such as housework, may be more important than less frequent but more intense recreational physical activity in reducing breast cancer risk.
Dr Lesley Walker of Cancer Research UK said: "We already know that women who keep a healthy weight are less likely to develop breast cancer.
"This study suggests that being physically active may also help reduce the risk and that something as simple and cheap as doing the housework can help."
He recommend that men and women take regular exercise and maintain a healthy body weight to help prevent cancer.
The research is published in the journal Cancer Epidemiology Biomarkers and Prevention. :canwin:

back to a previous conversation.
yesterday was welsh national day which is very very busy here so we did an experiment.
we made the whole pub non-smoking! and it worked believe it or not.
out of approx 650-750 customers only one sparked up and he was asked to hit the road. my only annoyance was that he was a local lad and not a stranger, who then racially(?) abused me........ooohh arent us saffers just dirt hey!
today we are back to normal and i cant wait for the feedback
the reason why we did the experiment was after a debate with our local health and safety expert, also know as my dads drinking buddy.
he said that people would just flout a ban willy nilly and carry on regardless, whereas we thought that brits were generally law-abiding and wouldnt.
thank goodness we won or we would never have heard the end of it.

:gbxmas: and a :newyear: to one an all
I am still finishing my packing but now that its only a few hours before we head to Heathrow and then to SA I wanted to wish all of you a very very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year..
2006 has been a very good year for me - perhaps 5 years is the kind of time one has to spend away from SA to find love, happiness and a bright future. Now I am taking my wonderful British man and his son home with me and the boys to meet the folks and show them what SA is all about.
i am really excited about the prospect and slightly worried about the crime but I am 100% certain no matter what we will have an amazing holiday filled with sun, safari and sea... we head off tomorrow and return in mid Jan ...
lots of love
Samantha :celeb:
