My mom arrived today and I can't wait to see her. She's her for a few months tho she will be moving around a bit and basing herself in the sunny isles of Orkney.

Sunny always makes me think unny: (It is 38 Degrees here in the "Third World" I am.

I have been following the news re the Americans that kills woman and children at will in Iraq. More and more coming out daily (and hourly).

Did you know the Americans has 7 000 deserters so far (Pentagon figures) and un-official figures of close to 20 000.

The IPC (Ind Police Comm in the UK) just announced that this great anti-terror raid this AM in East London where a suspect was shot had another red face attached to it. Yes - it was by accident :rofl:

On a very, very sad note : American family and friends sat at the bed-side of their very critical daughter. She was the only one alive after a horrific bus accident. When she woke up - 5 weeks later - she was somebody else's child and these poor people had to be told their daughter was burried 5 weeks earlier. One very sad family - another family got their daughter back.

First World blunders of the day - and they keep on coming.

A few months ago a visitor to the Italy Magazine forum noted that she was trying to set up a charity that would give free holidays to people who really needed it - cancer sufferers, terminally and chronically ill people, etc. Today the announcement has come that they have succeeded and are up and running.

Just heard this, and I'm amazed ............. !!

A Friend of my sister in law's son bought a Harley Davidson Motorcycle from and old guy in Westonaria for R30 000.00 - that was about 2 years ago.

It was quite old already, and he was looking for a specific part he just couldn't find in SA. After phoning around for quite some time - he got a number for a Harley Davidson Shop in the US. Spoke to the guy and explained exactly what he needs, when the guy at the shop said that he has to have the VIN / Chassy number (whatever you call it?) in order to send the right part.

So he phoned it through, and the guy from the shop phoned back and asked whether he was really, really sure that it was the correct VIN number - which the guy checked again and confirmed, and the shop-owner was astonished!! He was asked to lift the seat and check for a little silver metal plate underneath .........

How it ever got to SA is still a mystery.

He was then offered $600 000.00 for the bike !!

What was on the little metal plate under the seat ???? :mmm:
