  Sommer net Doll
Posted by: hantam - 04-03-2006, 07:02 PM - Forum: Praat Afrikaans - No Replies

Haar naam is Breath of God, Lielie, Vlieg, Einstein, Poppie
of sommer net Doll.

  A new Jodi Picoult Book
Posted by: nikkinaz - 04-03-2006, 06:52 PM - Forum: The Book Club - No Replies

Jodi Picoult will have a new book published around the end of April:

The Tenth Circle

How far would you go to protect the ones you love? Worldwide publication of Jodi Picoult's brand new hardback will be a major event. When Daniel Stone was a child, he was the only white boy in a native Eskimo village where his mother taught, and he was teased mercilessly because he was different. He fought back, the baddest of the bad kids: stealing, drinking, robbing and cheating his way out of the Alaskan bush - where he honed his artistic talent, fell in love with a girl and got her pregnant. To become part of a family, he reinvented himself - jettisoning all that anger to become a docile, devoted husband and father. Fifteen years later, when we meet Daniel again, he is a comic book artist. His wife teaches Dante's Inferno at a local college; his daughter, Trixie, is the light of his life - and a girl who only knows her father as the even-tempered, mild-mannered man he has been her whole life. Until, that is, she is date raped...and Daniel finds himself struggling, again, with a powerlessness and a rage that may not just swallow him whole, but destroy his family and his future.

So who is the biggest pumpkin ?
Posted by: FlyingBok - 04-03-2006, 02:24 PM - Forum: Banter and ALL - No Replies

Quite a co-incidence that Bush was the pumpkin on NEWS 24 the same day that video evidence revealed that he lied to the American public (again) :jester:

  Can anyone help?
Posted by: Oom Rob - 03-03-2006, 02:59 AM - Forum: Banter and ALL - No Replies

Is there any chance you can assist?

As you all know I help many people in many various ways, but yesterday morning I received an e-mail titled "queries" from a very dear elderly friend in Bulawayo. If I may I will insert for you all to read what was in the e-mail:-

"Can you help by doing your detective work. First and foremost can you get me the address of Hornby - the people who make the toy trains. The other query is even better. At one time we had a Jazz Club and there was a very good keyboard player. Is it possible for you to find him?

He was a dentist and at one time had a practice in Bermondsey (London) and he was out here in Bulawayo on a Government Contract before moving to Harare, and I believe he is now back in London. He is the type of person who has e-mail. His christian name was Joe - please help."

Now I know we can all sometimes do the impossible, but on this one I am stumped! Any suggestions what so ever would be greatly appreciated
