  Salary scales for Service Manager
Posted by: jimswin - 18-10-2005, 07:26 PM - Forum: Your Employment and Recruitment - No Replies

Hi Folks, I have been approached by the UK MD to fill a Service Manager position responsible for 20 people in our Leominster office in the UK.

This is a specialised team of technicians and guys performing installation/training repairs and calibration for the whole of UK and Ireland,

I have cruised the net and looked at salary scales, but would appreciate any guidelines on what ranges the salaries could be expected to lie between.

Also what is the current UK trend with respect to medical top up schemes and pensions etc.

I will be meeting with the guys in the next couple of weeks, but would like to be prepared and at least have some info for the meeting. All help appreciated.

Thanks Jimswin

  What broadband service provider UK
Posted by: jimswin - 18-10-2005, 07:13 PM - Forum: Your Computers, Gadgets and Software - No Replies

We may be returning to the UK next year, and I wondered what service provider some of you may use for broadband and what advantages / costs to expect.

I looked on the web, and found that many of them offer high speed but with limited download capacity.

Is there a supplier that allows permanant connection and unlimited download at reasonable rates?

I am really spoilt in Germany have a 6 G connection and can surf unlimited unlimited downloads for 29.90 Euro per month.

From what I have read to date the BT guys have pretty much got a strangle hold on the UK market.

Comments appreciated please

  Goodbye but never forgotten

For those remembering a loved one:

I know you'll no longer walk thiis way side by side again
Your hand in mine, our thoughts as one
No longer to hear your footsteps as we walk on by
Your gentle humour, your understanding nature gone from our midst
Thank you my friend for being there when I needed you
Thank for that hand of friendship when I was down
Your beauty and your charm will never be forgotten
Close your eyes and rest now, your deed is done.

  Squarefoot Gardening
Posted by: Bushbaby - 17-10-2005, 10:36 AM - Forum: Flora - No Replies

Has anyone else ever come across this concept of gardening?

It is like a highly evolved version of the peace gardens back in South Africa.

They do have a website (I was surprised to discover) at http://www.squarefootgardening.com

The premise is very simple, and once the initial work and financial outlay has been done, it seems very efficient and cost effective to maintain.

I was searching for some Leon Schuster lyrics and came across this site: http://www.gypsy.co.za/index.htm

Some wonderful memories came flooding back reading all the 'local' lyrics Smile (click on the music link and then the lyrics link)

I've no idea what I am doing wrong, I just can't figure it out...

How do you get Winzip to compress directories and sub-directories ?

I have a CD with loads of files in loads of directories that I want to compress and also make into one file so that I can attach it to a mail it as I don't want to attach hundreds of files....
