  Marshmallows
Posted by: dudette - 14-04-2004, 08:25 PM - Forum: Food Matters - Replies (8)

My mother used to make marshmallows when I was a child and they always used to come out delicious!
I still have the recipe, but it calls for powdered gelatin and I could only find Sheet gelatine at Tesco's.
I tried to adapt the recipe but failed, so wondered if someone could give me a general recipe for how to make marshmallows
(i.e. xxx ml water/ xxx g gelatin / xxx ml sugar, )

Help!!

  Mixed Spice anyone???
Posted by: jimswin - 14-04-2004, 06:14 PM - Forum: Food Matters - Replies (8)

Can some one point me in the right direction for a recipe on how to make mixed spice?

Looked on the web but the mixture I tried was not too succesful. We battle to find it in Germany but most raw ingredients are available, so I figured we could DIY.

Also what about Allspice??

Tks Jim

  The Monster Hour
Posted by: dudette - 13-04-2004, 10:26 PM - Forum: Parenting and Children - Replies (11)

You know that time of day; doesn't matter what time it is, but its around supper time when you're in the process of boiling the veggies, grilling the meat, setting the table, making the gravy, coordinating the last of supper and the Little One is wailing in your ear, as all she wants is to be picked up! It drives me mad!

What do/did you do to deal with this stressful time of day so you can get your hoards fed and keep the Little One happy?
Any suggestions would be appreciated (except where Little Ones were Harmed in the making of such posts Wink )
