6 hours at 2000 mph here,
and 1000mph back would make it 12 hours at that speed, thereby taking 18 hours in all.
Still ...
While I'm tempted to just add the two speeds together and divide by two, I think its a little more complicated than that.
Ok, average airspeed is distance over time
so the distance travelled is (2000.6 +1000.12) =30000 miles
Now average speed is distance/time = 30000/18 = 1666.66mph.
