Tug of War topped the billboard chart for 3 weeks in 1982. It features a who's who of musicians; Eric Stweart of 10CC fame, Ringo Starr, producer George Martin (who plays a piano), Stanley Clarke, Stevie Wonder and Carl Perkins, who's laugh can be heard at the end of "Get it". Paul told him a joke during recording which was left out as it was considered too racy leaving only Perkins' strange disembodied laugh. Paul plays electric, acoustic and Spanish guitars as well as bass, piano, synths, drums and vocoder on the album.
