My problem is that I am just not a lover of fish, yet really want to find some fish that I will be able to eat and enjoy as it is so much healthier. I do not enjoy the 'fishy' fishes (i.e. Salmon) at all. I need to get a cooking method that will hide/enhance the taste so that I can eat it. Any ideas?
Before you buy anything, give me a shout on the mobile.
By the sounds of it you're referring to 'oily fish' which would give quite a pungent smell/ flavour, which you might not like.. and example would be Mackerel or Anchovies or even Sardines.
Some game fish are superb on a braai:
Tuna - Yellow fin
Swordfish/ Broadbill
Marlin
Mahi-Mahi (always remove the skin prior to cooking)
King fish (yellow tail/ Amberjack)
Kabeljou (if you can get it)
and then a variety of local fish:
Wild sea bass
Red Mullet
Dorade Royale
Monkfish cheeks/ tails
and then the shellfish:
Lobster
Prawns
Crab legs
I'll have to whip you up for one of my courses sometime
