Christian woman at BA loses her appeal
Posted by: gwasi - 20-11-2006, 04:19 PM - Forum: Banter and ALL - No Replies

I've just read that the woman who was told she could not wear her cross, unless hidden, has lost her appeal. Why? If this was a Muslim lady then there would be no problem. Again society gone mad.

  Please help!!
Posted by: Guest - 20-11-2006, 01:39 PM - Forum: Travel and Immigration - No Replies

Saffer friends of mine are relocating from Australia to Dallas. They should arrive the end of December, and need short term furnished accommodation for 2 adults, 3 kids and a dog. They will need it for 2-6 weeks or until they find their feet and understand the schooling and find suitable facilities in the Dallas Fort Worth area.

Do you know of any sites or anybody in the States who can help?
.

Thanks in advance Smile

My sister's son (24yrs old) was in a carcrash on Saturday morning in SA. The car is a write-off. He was on his own, and they think that the car must have rolled several times.

A truckdriver stopped at the scene, and helped him out of the car and made sure he is okay. He rang the ambulance and also my sister and her husband to tell them what happened to Schalk. He said that he will stay with him until the ambulance arrives, as he is on a tight schedule with his delivery, he will have to go. He reassure them that he is okay, and that he won't leave him alone. He also gathered all his belongings and made sure it is in safe hands.

Schalk remember after the accident when he opened his eyes, that this man was praying for him.

Schalk has got a few deep laserations to his head and arm, but nothing serious, and is recovering well.

It is just so nice to hear stories like this, and that there are still good people out there. :lovef:

  Wedding invitation
Posted by: Pronkertjie - 19-11-2006, 08:01 PM - Forum: Banter and ALL - No Replies

A friend is getting married in South Africa in January. She decided that she would put "children welcome" on her wedding invitation. She love children and wanted to include them as children don't get invited to weddings anymore. Well.... she now receives replies from parents who are bringing their grown-up children with them, and we suspect their boy and girl friends too.

If you receive and invitation address as just Mr. & Mrs. would you take your grown up children that doesn't live at home anymore? She is a bit surprised when the two people she invited turned into 10 people - the parents plus 4 children and their boy and girl friends. It is a bit difficult to now say, sorry this is not what we meant. Smile

  Cyprus Visa
Posted by: alvonhumb - 19-11-2006, 03:06 PM - Forum: Travel and Immigration - No Replies

Web search comes up with different answers on this one - what are visa requirements for SA passport holders for Cyprus (Greek side)? Can't find an official site with rules either.

Some sources say 30 days visit without a visa, others that a visa is required.

Anyone done a trip there recently?
