Not too many people seem to be using it but it is a great idea for those of us that buy by mail order. If all the Buzzers started registering their findings, and told all their green fingered mates about it as well, it could become a really useful resource.

Thanks for the link PomBok. I have registered and was very happy to see that many of the seed companies I use are highly rated. Always helps to get a second commendation.
For interest here, the companies I use most are:
www.hdra.org.uk (organic and heritage seed)
www.vidaverde.co.uk (absolutely brilliant service, interesting range of edibles)
www.plantsofdistinction.co.uk (tomatoes, aubergines and chillies and extensive flower selection)
Chiltern Seeds
www.amishlandseeds.com (slightly crazy owner - I think - but good selection of seed on offer)
Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds -
www.rareseeds.com (easily the most diverse range of popular edibles)
A company I haven't yet tried (largely because I don't have a cheque book) is Future Foods. They have a brilliant catalogue though -

Good to also have somewhere to find the nightmare suppliers - so they can be
weeded out

haven't tried them, but they've got a good selection:

I have ordered from them. Good service - seed all arrived very quickly, though sowing guidelines are a bit sketchy (largely because the packets are multilingual). Generous amount of seed in each packet though.

Good - re. number of seeds. That means that I'll be able to split the packet with friends AND there'll be enough for a huge margin of error.
One can always contact them for more detailed instructions I suppose.
The website has some info, but mostly it can be found in any garden book, or you treat it like the nearest UK equivalent and hope for the best.
